Charolais bulls topped the offering at the Wakefield Charolais and Angus sale at Wollomombi on Friday 14th August. The Frizell family celebrated their 160th year of breeding cattle at Wakefield and the sale results didn’t disappoint, with many loyal clients returning to purchase bulls. Charolais were first in the ring selling 39 of 39 for a 100 per cent clearance, top of $12,000 and average of $5769. Wakefield Patriot topped the sale selling to repeat clients the Campbell family of Eltham for their commercial coastal operation. The polled 23-month-old tipped the scales at 796 kilograms. A son of Wakefield Masquerade and out of a Pinay daughter, he was in the top 10 pc for gestation length and calving ease daughters.
