Charolais cattle are renowned for their growth and ability to add muscle in planned crossbreeding programs.

 

The Australian Charolais has been developed by blending Charolais genetics from around the world and selecting for performance in the Australian environment. Particular selection pressure has been made on traits such as calving and the ability to finish with excellent outcomes. Charolais have also selected for strong maternal traits including udder quality and milk production.
