There are different categories of membership in the Charolais Society of Australia Ltd. The categories are listed below and we encourage prospective new members to discuss their objectives with the office prior to joining.

Full (Ordinary) membership – where members will be entitled to vote at meetings of the Company, will be eligible for election to the Council, and will be entitled to have their cattle recorded with the Company in accordance with the Company’s Regulations.

Associate membership – where members will not be entitled to vote at meetings of the Company, will not be eligible for election to the Council, will not be entitled to have their cattle recorded with the Company in accordance with the Company’s Regulations, but will be entitled to attend functions organised by the Company;

Youth membership – where members are aged 25 years or less at the time that the Annual Subscription is due, and will not be entitled to vote at meetings of the Company, will not be eligible for election to the Council but will be entitled to attend functions organised by the Company, and will be entitled to have their cattle recorded with the Company in accordance with the Company’s Regulations;

Honorary Life membership – where members who have brought about exceptional development in, or exceptional promotion of, the Charolais breed, are elected as such by the Council, and such Member will be entitled to vote at meetings of the Company, will be eligible for election to the Council, and will be entitled to have their cattle recorded with the Company in accordance with the Company’s Regulations, but will not for the remainder of their lives be called upon to pay any Annual Subscription to the Company.
