Andrew and Norah Cass, ANC Full French Charoalis, Guluguba, sold 68 bulls to average $6551 and topped at $26,000, at their on-property sale near Guluguba, on August 31.In all, 68 bull from 107 catalogued sold, representing 64 per cent clearance. The sale topper was ANC Mardin (P), a son of ANC Huddle from a ANC female family and sold to Ian and Dell Price, Moongool Charolais, Yuleba. ANC Mardin entered the sale ring with a weight of 894kg, an eye muscle area of 140sq cm and a scrotal circumference of 42cm. Mr Price, a repeat buyer of the ANC genetics, said the sire would be used over stud females in the Moongool herd. “He is a nice soft polled bull and will really suit our females,” Mr Price said.
Paying to $21,500 for ANC Manda (P) were Western Australian breeders, Callanish Grazing, Donnybrook. Callanish Grazing took the opportunity to log onto and bid through Chris Norris, Elite Livestock Auctions. ANC Manda is a son of ANC Felix, and is from a female family who grand dam was ANC longest living production cow. Callanish Grazing also selected ANC Meridan (P), a son of ANC Jaguar. Wayne and Lesley Davis, Barambah-Dale Charolais, Murgon, paid $15,500 for ANC Medal, a son of ANC Hectare.
Chas and Phillip Nobbs, Cordelia, Moura, were active during the sale and finished with four bulls to average $9125. The Nobbs paid a top price of $14,000 for the red factor ANC Macenta (P), a son of ANC Flair. Macenta (P) wieghed 946kg, has an eye muscle area of 150sq cm, and scrotal circumference of 39cm. Stud principal, Andrew Cass, said despite the dry conditions prevailing they were very happy with the sale result.
